I thought it was evil that Blackpoint was sent to Iraq after I had assumed he was locked in a cell somewhere after what happened in Central America in the ’80s. Now he’s going to be the man who is straightening Big Brother’s tie.
President Bush on Thursday nominated John Negroponte, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, as the first director of national intelligence…Negroponte also will have the authority to order the collection of new intelligence, information sharing between agencies and the establishment of common standards, Bush said.
Negroponte supervised the construction of the El Aguacate air base where Nicaraguan Contras were trained by the US, and which critics say was used as a secret detention and torture center during the 1980s. In August 2001, excavations at the base discovered 185 corpses, including two Americans, who are thought to have been killed and buried at the site.
“Secret detention and torture center”? HOLY SHIT, STOP THE PRESSES!
Is it impossible to kick oneself in the head? I may try. I think it might make me feel better.
