    So if the committed delegate race ends with a solid lead for Obama (not a superdelegate-proof margin, but solid). If you’re a superdelegate who is an elected official — even one ostensibly committed to Sen. Clinton — are you willing to cast your for for Clinton at the convention? You would then have to go home and explain to your state/district/etc., that you know better than your constituents who is best for the party. I don’t think that would go over well. Maybe it’s tenable if you represent a state or district that went for Clinton, but when you run for office again, you also have non-democrats to persuade, with whom your vote isn’t likely to be popular.
